A Few of Our Favorite Canoe Routes...

.
1. Saganaga Lake to Cache Bay, Silver Falls (one of the most beautiful falls in the canoe country) Saganagons, down river to Kawnipi Lake. You will return the same route.  This is a very beautiful trip around several waterfalls.  Average time - 7 days with 10 portages.  You may extend this trip to 10 days by returning to Saganaga through Wawiag River, Mack, Ross and Bitchu Lake.  Fabulous fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike and lake trout on both the above routes.  Both routes may be shortened by 2 days by being towed across Saganaga Lake.  This trip requires a Quetico Park Permit.
.
2. Saganaga Lake, Northeast arm of Saganaga to the north channel of Northern Light Lake through Trafalgar Bay to Moose Bay and Northern Light Falls, returning to our base through Red Sucker Bay of Saganaga Lake.  Average time - 3 to 5 days with only 4 portages.  Excellent fishing for walleye and smallmouth bass, also northern pike.  This trip takes you into Canadian waters, Crown Land Camping Permits required.
.
3. Saganaga Lake to Red Rock Bay, then a short portage to Red Rock Lake, a pretty little lake, another short portage to Alpine Lake, a beautiful small lake with many islands.  A 104 rod portage puts you into Seagull Lake, a very picturesque lake.  Here you will paddle 7 miles through the islands to your pickup point.  Average time - 3 to 4 days with 3 portages.  Lots of large walleye and smallmouth bass are caught in these waters.  B.W.C.A. permit is required.  Trip can be extended to 5 - 6 days with side trips.
.
4. Saganaga Lake to Cache Bay, Silver Falls (one of the most beautiful falls), enter Saganagons, paddle to Bitchu Lake, then on to Bemar or Ross Lake (a scenic area to lay over, base camp and explore).  On the outside edge of the Quetico Park, this area provides excellent smallmouth and walleye fishing.  Lots of moose activity in this area.  Average time - 5 to 7 days.  This trip may be reduced to 5 days by using our "Headstart" service across Saganaga Lake.  This trip takes you into Canadian waters, no Quetico permit is required, but a Crown Land Camping permit is required.
.
5. Saganaga Lake around American Point to 3rd bay, Swamp Lake, Otter track, Upper Knife, through Lower Knife - returning through Eddy, Jean, Annie Ogishkemuncie, Jasper, Alpine, Red Rock and end at our base on Saganaga Lake.  Average time - 5 to 6 days.  Some large lakes and a lot of smaller lakes with many bays to explore and fish with excellent smallmouth, walleye, lake trout and northern pike fishing.  A fairly easy trip with 10 portages.  B.W.C.A. permit is required.
